The International Colorist Academy is 10 years old next year, and during this time we have visited many cities and conducted our range of Color Correction classes. The first Toronto classes have just wrapped in Toronto. Kevin started at the beginning of October and I followed up during the early part of November. LIFT hosted our classes and proved to be a fantastic venue, with each student getting their own iMac workstation.
I had previously worked on the Punisher movie in Montreal 2007 and had conducted an IATSE 669 Vancouver class in 2015, but had never been to Toronto. The great thing about visiting new cities for work is that if time permits you can tag a day on the beginning or the end to see some of the sights.
Toronto saw the penultimate stop of the Resolve 15 World Tour. Three Resolve 15 classes designed for all levels saw a great mixture of students, here is a selection of students who attended.
Sylvaine Dufaux, Montreal. DP and Camera operator on the last Star Wars movie ‘Solo’
Brandon Kennedy NYC. VFX artist from the Showtime Network in NYC
Russ De Jong Toronto. DP, just worked on the last Burt Reynolds feature shot in Ireland. Red Camera owner.
Matthew Evans, Toronto. Feature film Colorist based in Toronto
Paul Steinburg csc , Toronto Director DP, TVC shooter, Alexa and Amira owner.
Joana Rodrigues de Souza, Montreal. Editor/Colorist working on all Genres.
Here is what they said about the experience.
