The Showdown Showcase is a film festival that encourages new film makers living on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. It’s the 3rd year of the festival and this year (2024) they had over 100 entries. The writers who are chosen are then given a budget and crew to make their film. I relocated all my grading kit to the Peregian Digital Hub so I could grade 7 films with the local directors and DPs.
The 2024 entries were a mixture of narrative and documentary films, great for me as I love grading different genres. I had access to the media beforehand so arrived having already spent some time on each film at my Brisbane grading shop. This saved time on the day as I had a number of ‘Look’ options already loaded.
All the films will be available to view once they have finished their run on the festival circuit where they are already getting international recognition
