The Mixers at NAB and IBC had prompted a call for an Asian version. So with the help of http://www.media-asylum.com and http://www.mediav.com.sg the ICA started the ball rolling straight after the IBC Mixer.
So on Wednesday 23rd November, 75 creative color folk gathered at the Blu Jazz Cafe in Singapore for the first Asian Colorist Mixer.
The world famous quiz, plus some fantastic raffle prizes kept the crowd amused. It was great to see some ‘old school’ graders like myself plus some of my ex students who are now colouring more and more.
The event also saw the launch of the Colorist Society International in Asia. The CSI was founded by Kevin Shaw and Jim Wicks. It is the first time we have had representation as colorists. There are future plans for a worldwide searchable database of all members, plus the exciting option of a Colorist Awards. To find out more please visit http://www.coloristsociety.com
