Calibration Check List from Professional Video Alliance
- Evaluation of Room, Setup of Gear — Optimal resolutions and connections
- Pre Calibration Report — Gray Scale tracking, Gamma, CMS, Color Checker, Document initial settings.
- Consider Mode Preset, Auto controls, Enhancement Controls.
- Set Black level control (Brightness).
- Set White level control (Contrast / Picture)
- Set the White Balance Preset.
- Repeat Black level and White level adjustments as necessary
- Adjust the adjust the bright / white side of the gray scale to < 2 Delta E (80 % stimulus)
- Adjust the dark side of the gray scale to < 2 Delta E (20 % stimulus)
- Repeat white and black white balance adjustments as necessary. Recheck / verify Black level and White level. Consider the entire 0-100 % gray scale range for > 2 Delta E errors
- Consider Gamma (EOTF) — Presets and Pictures Modes — consider 10-20 points of adjustment if available.
- Select Color Space Preset for targeted Color Space.
- Adjust Color and Tint. Consider setting Color by measuring Red Luminance as a percentage of White.
- Consider CMS or CCA. If adjusting CMS start with Color and Tint at center position.
- Ensure 1:1 Pixel Mapping then adjust Sharpness
