Colorist training like everything else has seen some big changes during the COVID 19 pandemic. My last classroom training class was in Singapore in February 2020, just before C19 locked down the world. Pre 2020 the classroom was by far the best way to learn. You got together with like minded creative individuals, over a couple of days for some intensive learning. Whether it was learning software, color management, film looks or monitor calibration you could ask questions whenever you wanted and always got feedback on your work. ZOOM has been a great C19 option but it just doesn’t give the same experience. Networking has always been an important part of my classes with students having the chance to ask extra questions during coffee breaks and bar sessions after class. Relationships struck up in the classroom can become lifelong friends.
So is now the time to get back in the classroom? We are saying yes, so classes have been announced in Taiwan during February.
