Who is the International Colorist Academy?
The ICA was the first organization to run classroom color correction classes. The organization was founded in 2009 by Kevin Shaw and Warren Eagles.
How does it work?
We do not have our own facility and prefer to work with partners who have existing training sites in London, Sydney, Singapore, Los Angeles, and New York.
Are the courses held at set times every year?
No. We are all working colorists so have to fit the ICA classes around our grading commitments. We normally announce a class about three months beforehand.
What do I need to take a class? Do I have to have experience?
It depends on the level of class. For all 101 classes, no experience is necessary. The 201 classes are for existing users or students who have previously taken the 101 class.
How many students are in a class?
We normally have eight to ten people in a class. The ICA courses are typically small and personal in order to maximize the opportunity for one on one feedback.
How many students per machine?
You get your own machine in all locations. If this changes because of extra numbers or because of machine issues you will be told beforehand.

Do you offer a discount for a class bundle?
Yes. Each training site will offer a maximum of 20% discount for taking more than one class. Please check at the time of booking.
Can I bring my own system?
Yes. If you have suitable hardware and the same software we are using for the class, we are happy for you to use your own kit.
Can I bring my own problem material?
Sure! We encourage this.
I do not see any classes taking place near my location. What can I do?
Ask us. If we get enough positive feedback from your region, we will look at running a class there.
Can you come to me?
Yes. We can arrange private one on one or post house visits. The price for this depends where you are in the world.
Will you be coming to India?
We have previously run classes in Chennai and would love to do more. We are actively looking at ways to make this happen.
