New Class!
Working with clients successfully is something you have to work at. It doesn’t come naturally for most, but confidence in the software will mean increased confidence in yourself. In turn that will reflect in front of your clients.
More and more colorists are working alone, this has been heightened by the Coronavirus restrictions. The days of bouncing ideas from a fellow colorist down the hall, or sitting with a senior colorist like I did are not very achievable options in 2020.
This new mentoring class is ideal if you have a good understanding of the software but still have lots of un-answered questions about the industry in general. This is not a technical class, more of an information session on how and why I do things. It features my ideas on how to best tackle a session at the same time as managing your client’s expectations. My aim is to make it as close as possible to simulating a junior working with a senior colorist in a full time situation.
This ICA certified virtual class is capped at 10 students. Students are encouraged to share their own material or showreels so they can get feedback before and during the class from Warren. Class participation and questions are encouraged at all times.
The class includes a screen recording, making it a great way to continue your learning long after the class has finished.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this class any different to anything else I can find on the internet? Great question. True, there are lots of information about software tips and tricks available online, but very little about real colorist experiences especially involving clients. Warren will share his knowledge gained during 30 years of coloring with clients all over the world.
I am an experienced Colorist; will I learn anything here? I will say yes. Remember Tiger Woods and Roger Federer still take weekly lessons. What I can guarantee is, if you are a working colorist and doing similar things to me, you can be confident going forward you are maximising your chances of getting work.
What equipment will I need? This is a non follow along class so you don’t really need a Computer to take part. If you want to follow and try some of Warren’s techniques the following applies.
- A laptop or desktop PC or MAC capable of running the latest DaVinci Resolve software.
- 2 monitors are preferred but not essential. This means you can have your software on 1 monitor and the instructor on the other.
- A headphone set and microphone is essential.
- Check that you have a steady reliable Internet connection.
- Notebook.
How will I get the supporting documents? A week before your class you’ll receive a download link. This will enable you to be confident and comfortable of your set up before the class begins.
Will I get a recording of the class? Yes. All classes are recorded and distributed as soon as we can.
Are the ICA virtual classes certified like the classroom? Yes, you will receive a digital ICA certificate.
Can I still become an ICA member? Yes, you will be able to get your bio on the ICA website and will have access to discounts from the sponsors and future ICA events.
