We had a great week of courses in Burbank, Los Angeles and would like to thank Keith and David at Roush Media for being such excellent hosts! The Introduction Day and Popular Looks are new classes, but the feedback was excellent and I will be introducing them to other locations.
Colorists from Italy, UK, Mexico, Canada and the US attended, most of them doing at least 2 classes and some doing all 3. It was like Apple heaven in there! As I was talking everyone had their macbook pro out to take notes, or research ideas on the internet. Well almost everyone, there was one Apple Ipad in the room too!
We were fortunate to have a very mixed group with experience of Color, Avid, FilmLight, Quantel and Digital Vision systems. Also a diverse interest in color grading with colorists from film restoration, reality tv, commercial and feature film clients. Everyone contributed new ideas as we explored grading history, workflows and room design (Introduction Day), colorist theory and psychology, grading tools and techniques (Colorist Strategies) and exploring, copying and creating looks (Popular Looks). The classes were all sold out and I plan to introduce new LA dates as soon as possible.
In the meantime Lorne is running Apple courses next week in Vancouver, and my next class will be Colorist Strategies in London July 5th. Details at https://icolorist.com/CourseCS1.html
Hope to see you there! Happy Coloring
Kevin
