International Colorist Academy (ICA) Co-Founder, Kevin Shaw Presents Digital Vision Film Master Operations Training September 27-29, 2010
Digital Vision and International Colorist Academy (ICA) have announced that Kevin Shaw, co-founder of ICA, is now an authorized Digital Vision Nucoda Film Master Operations Training instructor.
The two types of Nucoda Film Master Operations Training classes are offered as either an introductory or advanced course structure and are designed to be hands-on for colorists that go beyond a traditional classroom environment.
The introductory class is an “essentials – how to grade with Nucoda Film Master” and is ideal for new colorists and freelancers that are new to Film Master. The curriculum includes the following training modules; an overview of a system installation, file structure and key features, how to set and use preferences and multi-user systems, GUI and control panels, layers, and primary grading tools.
The advanced class provides more complex techniques for the Digital Vision grading solution and requires that students have at least one year of experience with using Nucoda Film Master or have taken equivalent courses with the ICA. Training modules in the advanced classes include; DVO tools (grain, regrain, aperture, sharpen and dust), preferences assist, advanced grading tools, compositing, blending, tracking, advanced isolations and combination mattes, as well as router techniques.
Students are encouraged to bring their own media to practice on the Nucoda Film Master in a real-world environment. The introductory “essentials – how to grade with Film Master” will be held September 27-29, 2010 at the Digital Vision London office.
Space is limited, so those wishing to attend should RSVP.
“The value that the ICA training delivers to new colorists, experienced colorist and filmmakers is invaluable to the post production industry,” comments Martin Bennett, Vice President Worldwide Marketing for Digital Vision. “We feel fortunate to have Kevin Shaw from the ICA delivering our Film Master training sessions as he is an expert in his field. “Nucoda Film Master is a high-end all-round DI conforming, grading and finishing solution that provides a wide range of creative tools, and we are looking forward to partnering with Digital Vision,” comments Kevin Shaw, co-founder of the International Colorist Academy. “We will continue to focus on teaching the tips, tricks and techniques of grading, and the Digital Vision partnership will allow more specialist classes that include Nucoda Film Master specific operational techniques.”
