ICA Expands Training Team, and Announces New Courses
Los Angeles, Vancouver, London, Paris, Sydney
International Colorist Academy (ICA) has expanded its training team with the addition of Dan Harvey and Blake Jones.
ICA now has seven experienced instructors that provide a variety of training courses on colorist strategies, commercial grading, on-set coloring for the RED camera, as well as a broad range of manufacturer-specific grading system workshops.
Dan Harvey is an ICA instructor for FilmLight BaseLight colorist classes. Dan’s background includes work as an application specialist for Quantel, Discreet and Autodesk and over the past 15 years has trained many Colorists, VFX artists and editors across a range of products. Dan has developed workflow solutions for many post production facilities helping them transition between technology platforms. In addition to his work as an ICA instructor, Dan teaches Colorist Theory / BaseLight operation classes at the National Film & Television School in the United Kingdom.
Blake Jones is an ICA instructor for Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve colorist classes. Blake’s career as a colorist spans over 25 years where he has worked in a number of facilities throughout the world. Blake’s experience includes a number of years as Director of Training for Pandora International, as well as working with daVinci as an independent contractor, where he authored the Resolve operator manual. Blake has also authored a couple of books including; “Film into Video: A Guide To Merging The Technologies” and “Video Color Correction For Non-Linear Editors: A Step By Step Guide.”
Two of the International Colorist Academy’s instructors will be supporting manufacturers during IBC 2010. Kevin Shaw will be demonstrating the Nucoda Film Master at the Digital Vision IBC booth no. 7.A28, and Warren Eagles is demonstrating the DaVinci Resolve on the Blackmagic Design booth no. 7.B25. Warren Eagles will also be appearing in the IBC training zone on Saturday, September 11th at 4 PM and September 14th at 1 PM.
The International Colorist Academy is growing in popularity and its training practices
are helping colorists all over the world improve their core competencies and gain a
competitive edge. Open classes are being held all over the world including;
Vancouver, Singapore, Sydney, London, and Los Angeles. In addition to the open
group courses, ICA offers private classes with the most recent ones held at ARRI,
Kodak, and FAS Screen Training Ireland.
