RG101: Learn to Grade with Resolve in Two Days
“This workshop is an excellent introduction to coloring with DaVinci Resolve. It is ideal for first time users and you do not need any experience to attend. It’s true you can search through free YouTube clips and probably get started, but it is very important when learning any software, to learn the correct way from the beginning. It will lay a great foundation going forward. So if you want to learn from a professional colorist with 35 years of color experience and 20 years on Resolve, then this might be the class for you.
My virtual classes are capped at six people with each student getting a media download link four days before the class starts. I encourage my students to share their own grades or problem material so they can get individual feedback.
The class mixes the operational side of Resolve with real world workflows and problems. The aim is to get you to a standard where you can color a real job. I run the class at a relaxed pace and encourage questions. Group participation is a key part of the course.

Warren Eagles has been coloring for 35 years and has been using Resolve since 2005. He co-founded the International Colorist Academy in 2009 and now splits his time between grading and teaching. Warren is based in Brisbane Australia where he owns and operates his own color grading shop. IMDB credits

FAQ
What kit do I need?
A laptop or desktop PC or Mac capable of running the latest Resolve software. Two monitors allow you to watch the training on one monitor use Resolve on the other. Headphones and mic. Check you have a stable internet connection suitable for ZOOM with the ability to download around 15GB of class media.
When are your group workshops; I don’t see any scheduled?
I generally run workshops every quarter. They rotate through RG101, RG201, and RG301. They also rotate between time zones.
How will I get the training footage and supporting documents?
A week before your class you will receive a Frame.io download link. This will enable you to be confident and comfortable of your setup before the class begins.
What if the class is not be in my time zone? A fixed time will not suit everybody, so we run the classes in different time zones with a moderator/translator as needed.
Can I customize a group class with my own requests? Please email any requests with ‘How to do’ questions and I’ll do my best to fit them into the workshop. Questions are an important part of group learning and I encourage them throughout the sessions.

Capped at six students.
What is the cost?
Variable depending on the locations but $395 to $599US is a good guide for the two day class.
Do you offer any student of Society or Guild Member discounts?
Yes. 20% to anyone who qualifies. Cannot be combined with any early bird discount already claimed.
Will I get a recording of the class?
Yes. We record all virtual sessions in ZOOM.
Do you have any post class Q&A?
Yes, you can ask questions via email to me or via the iColorist Facebook and Linkedin groups.
Can I keep and use the footage supplied in the class?
Yes, you can use it for private practice after the class. You cannot share the material with anyone else or use it with any other training organization.
