Premiere Pro to Resolve 14: The conform part of Resolve is probably the easiest part for editors to understand. It is still best to start with a small simple timeline in Premiere Pro that you can round trip into Resolve.
Adding a reference movie to check your conform in Resolve: You would be mad to start grading without first checking the conform with a ref movie. Judging by the number of questions I get about this during my ICA training classes, this can be quite tricky.

Grading “Martha Marlow”, a one take music video: “These Days” by Martha Marlow. Watch the finished video here. This is a one take music video, so no conforming or editing. It was shot in one take and graded using a single clip. The iPhones and iPads all had different color temperatures and exposures to the background so needed to be graded then tracked and key framed individually. Jason was shooting so couldn’t attend the grade so I graded in Brisbane and sent him the Resolve project file, he then loaded it on his machine and made comments. Once I got something he liked he rendered and made all versions on his machine, freeing me to do more grading on my system.
